What If Your Wix Desktop Menu Disappears or Becomes Not Clickable

What If Your Wix Desktop Menu Disappears or Becomes Not Clickable

Hey there, Wix enthusiasts and web design aficionados! Ever launched your shiny new Wix site and discovered that your menu is visible but not clickable? It can feel like your website is staging a mini-rebellion! But worry not. We're diving deep into this common hiccup and showing you step-by-step how to kick your menu back into working order. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, and let’s unravel this mystery together.

Unraveling the Mystery of the Missing Menu

Picture this: You've spent hours perfecting your Wix site. You've chosen the perfect colors, stuck in eye-catching images, and crafted words to hook your audience. You hit "publish" and excitedly visit your site, only to find that your menu doesn't work. Yikes!

What's the Deal Here?

This sneaky issue often creeps up when a strip element on your header gets in the way of your menu. So why use a strip in the first place? Strips are ideal for web designers who want multiple header elements to expand or contract according to different screen widths—keeping things looking spick and span no matter where they're viewed.

What's happening here is that your menu isn't unclickable by summon ritual: it’s just hiding behind its friend, the strip!

The Simple Fix

The solution to this seemingly complex problem is deliciously easy. It’s all about rearranging the order of your stacked elements.

1. Identify the Problem: Pop into your site preview. If you can see the menu but can't click it, the culprit is likely the strip. This becomes obvious if your strip is translucent or fully opaque, since it might block parts (or all) of your menu.

2. Grab Your Magic Wand - the Arrange Tool:

- Click on your strip. If it highlights and your menu doesn’t, this means the strip is taking the liberty of being first in line.

- Right-click on the strip, and look for options under "Arrange."

- Choose "Send to Back" or "Send Backward," so that the strip steps aside and your menu can take center stage.

- Click on your menu afterward and use the "Bring to Front" tool from "Arrange" to ensure it's the star of the show again.

3. Peek & Preview: Check your site in preview mode. Your menu should now be ready, clickable, and eagerly awaiting new visitors!
