Editor X Simplified: Containers | Wix Fix

Welcome back to Wix Fix, where we simplify the complex Editor X platform to make it less daunting for new users. In today's blog post, we will be discussing containers and how you can use them to create responsive web designs effortlessly.

Containers play a significant role in achieving responsive designs, allowing you more control over your website's responsiveness. So, whether you're a novice user or an experienced professional, mastering containers is essential when working with Editor X. Let's dive in!

What are Containers?

Containers are basic layout elements in Editor X that allow you to group and arrange other elements or sections on your website. They are particularly useful when you want to create consistent spacing and alignments across multiple website sections.

Using containers is crucial if you want to create a responsive website, as they allow for more precise control over the way sections and elements are displayed on different devices and screen sizes.

How to Add Containers in Editor X

To add a container to your website, follow these simple steps:

1. Open the Editor X platform.

2. Click on the Add Elements button on the top left corner.

3. Scroll down to the Containers section in the Elements menu.

4. Choose the desired container and drag it to the appropriate area on your canvas.

Once you've added the container, you can adjust its size and properties using the Inspector panel on the right side of the screen.

Setting Container Width and Background Fill

When you add a container to your website, it will come with a default gray background fill. If you prefer a transparent container, simply click on the design tab and remove the background fill. To customize the container width, follow these steps:

1. Click on the container to select it.

2. Head over to the Inspector panel on the right side.

3. Adjust the width by selecting a percentage from the dropdown menu. We recommend using a width between 70 to 80 percent for a responsive design.

Remember, it's crucial to maintain consistency in your width settings across your entire website. So, if you decide to use 80 percent width for one container, make sure to use the same measurement for all containers on your site.

Using Containers for Responsive Design

To achieve a responsive design and maintain control over your website's appearance on different devices, containers are essential. Here's why:

1. Containers help create consistent spacing and alignments across your website on various screen sizes.

2. They allow for a more organized and structured layout, making it easier to manage multiple elements on your site.

3. Containers enable you to design custom experiences for different devices by altering their sizes and properties.

4. They let you create flexible layouts that respond to different devices and screen sizes effortlessly.

When working with Editor X, make sure to consistently use containers throughout your website design to take advantage of their benefits.
