Step 1: Add a Lightbox
To start, you'll need to add a lightbox to your site. WIX offers a variety of pre-designed templates, but for this tutorial, we'll be customizing every aspect of the lightbox. So, choose any template that you like, as we'll be stripping it down to its basic components soon.
Once you've added the lightbox, remove any text or images that came with the template, then stretch out the box to cover the entire page so that it acts as the full-screen menu.
Step 2: Customize the Lightbox
Next, change the background color of your lightbox to match your website's design aesthetic. Don't forget to update the color of the overlay too, so that it's identical to your chosen lightbox background color. This will create a seamless look when the full-screen menu is activated.
Step 3: Add a Vertical Menu
Now it's time to add a menu to your lightbox. Go to "Add" > "Menu" > "Vertical Menu." The vertical layout type ensures the menu items align nicely within the full-screen design.
Step 4: Customize the Menu
After adding the vertical menu to your lightbox, it's time to customize it to match your site's design. Click on "Design" and start making adjustments to the fonts, colors, and hover/click styles.
First, make the font larger and bolder so that it stands out against your lightbox background. You can also change its color to complement your site's palette.
Next, customize each menu item's hover style (the effect when users mouse over) and click style (the appearance when a menu item is selected) to fit your website's aesthetic. This might mean changing to different colors or adjusting the size and weight of the text.
Lastly, center-align your menu text within the lightbox, and adjust the padding or margins to make sure it's properly positioned within the full-screen lightbox. Remember to preview your changes every once in a while to make sure everything looks great!
Step 5: Connect the Hamburger Icon
Now that your full-screen lightbox menu is finished, it's time to connect it to your website's hamburger icon. Follow these steps to trigger your menu:
1. Click on your hamburger icon.
2. Select "Manage Triggers" from the floating toolbar.
3. Assign the lightbox menu to open when the hamburger is clicked.
4. Save your changes.
Voilà! Your visitors can now enjoy a sleek, interactive hamburger menu experience on your website.

With these easy steps, you just leveled up your design game by adding a full-screen hamburger menu to your WIX site. This modern approach to navigation ensures that your website remains user-friendly and stylish, further elevating your online presence.
