6 Things You May Not Know About Editor X | Wix Fix

Hey there! Thanks for tuning in to our latest blog post, brought to you by livelearning.editorx.io. We're all about helping you build your design business and further your career, offering mentoring and even hosting monthly NoCode Design Challenges with incredible prizes! Today, we'll be taking a deep dive into six little-known tips and tricks for working with Editor X that'll save you time and improve your web design skills. So let's get started, shall we?

1. Reset Images with Just a Click

We all love images, right? They enhance the look and feel of our websites and can make them come alive. But sometimes, things can go awry, especially when it comes to scaling images proportionately. One moment, you have a gorgeous full-width image that resizes gracefully as the website's dimensions change; the next, you accidentally turn off "scale proportionately", and the image starts getting all wonky and distorted.

But fear not, dear reader! With Editor X, you can quickly fix this issue by resetting your image. Simply select the problematic image, click on 'Settings', and then hit 'Reset Image'. Voilà! Your image is restored to its original form, and you can adjust its position and reapply any other settings, such as Parallax, that may have been lost in the process.

2. Easily Edit Text with the Text Box

Editing text in Editor X is straightforward, but did you know there's an even easier way to navigate and edit your text? That's right – the Text Box! Just double-click on any text element, and the Text Box will pop up, allowing you to edit the text directly _within_ the box. You can also use the handy toolbar on top of the Text Box to change the font, size, color, and add links without having to hunt around for these options in the menus.

3. Access Your Site Structure through Layers

The Layers panel in Editor X is a powerful tool to have in your arsenal, especially when working with complex layouts and nested elements. This panel offers a bird's eye view of your entire site's structure, allowing you to quickly access and manipulate different sections and layers anytime, without endless scrolling and clicking.

To open the Layers panel, click on the 'Layers' icon located in the left-hand toolbar. You can then use this panel to select a specific element or section, lock/unlock items, or even hide/show them altogether.

4. Customize Bullet Points and Numbered Lists

Sometimes, the default styling for bullet points and numbered lists just doesn't cut it – but don't worry! Editor X has got you covered. By selecting the list, you can adjust the font, style, and formatting right from the properties panel. Choose your desired font size, color, line spacing, and even select a custom bullet point style to make your lists stand out and align with the rest of your design.

5. Never Miss a Thing with Auto Save

One of the worst experiences in the world of web design is losing hours of work due to unexpected crashes or technical issues. That's where Editor X's Auto Save feature comes in! With Auto Save enabled, you can rest easy knowing that your Editor X project saves automatically every few seconds, substantially reducing the risk of losing your hard work.

Still nervous? To be extra safe, you can click on the 'Save' button located in the top right-hand corner of the editor anytime you finish making significant changes.

6. Keep Your Designs Responsive with the Docking Panel

With the importance of mobile and tablet browsing steadily increasing, it's crucial to ensure your site looks great on every device. That's where the Docking panel comes in! By using the docking settings to anchor elements on your page based on their position relative to the viewport, grid, or flex container, you'll ensure your design stays responsive and functional across all screen sizes.

Just select the element you want to adjust and click on the 'Docking' icon in the properties panel to access these settings. Experiment with different positions to achieve the perfect level of responsiveness for your project.
